Family of Joseph Dame of Durham, New Hampshire

Joseph⁶ Dame (Moses⁵, John⁴, John³, John², John¹) was born in Nottingham 14 Sept. 1747. His father, Moses Dame, was born 2 May 1721 in Newington and married, 1743, Anne Hunking, daughter of Capt. Mark Hunking of Portsmouth. Joseph Dame married, 30 March 1783, Abigail Leathers and lived in Durham. He was a sergeant in the Revolution. He died 15 March 1842. His wife died 15 Oct. 1840, having been born 28 Oct. 1760. A town record says she died 11 Oct. 1839, aged 78.

5. Sarah Dame died unmarried 28 Aug. 1870 (?).
6. Ann Dame married 6 March 1817, Eliot G. Burnham.
7. Abigail Dame born 22 Feb. 1796; married 15 Feb. 1817, John Fowler.
8. Susan Dame born 24 April 1801; married Rufus Willey.
9. William Dame twin to Samuel; born 19 May 1803; died 17 Nov. 1846. Unmarried.
10. Samuel Dame twin to William; born 19 May 1803; married Olive Tuttle of Nottingham.

Family of Asa Dame of Durham, New Hampshire

Asa⁷ Dame (Joseph) born 9 Feb. 1789; married, 11 Feb. 1841, Lucia G. Bickford, daughter of Robert and Hannah (Dame) Bickford, who was born 14 Sept. 1812 and d. 7 June 1902. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, captured and confined in Dartmoor prison. He died 25 Nov. 1861. Two children:

1. Asa G. Dame born 14 March 1844.
2. John B. G. Dame born 21 May 1848; married 4 Dec. 1884, Clara E. Kent, daughter of Eben Kent, born 17 Aug. 1867. Their daughter:
   1. Bertha A. Dame, born 21 Aug. 1885, married 22 Aug. 1906, Harry E. Rand.

Jason⁷ Dame born 9 March 1793; married Mary Sias, 15 Dec. 1816, born in Epping, 8 Apr. 1794. Children of Jason and Mary (Sias) Dame, the first born in Lee, the next six in Portsmouth, and the last two in Durham, all recorded in Durham:
